A Visitor’s Guide to HARVESTING
Excess bounty from the community garden and our neighbours gardens is often placed on the produce stand to share with visitors.
To respect the work of volunteers and share in the garden’s bounty when plentiful:
Take Only What You Need for One (1) Meal
Harvest only enough for one meal per visit, so there’s plenty left for others to enjoy.
Harvest With Care
Please don’t take the first or the last - this supports regeneration and sharing.
Pick only ripe produce – allow plants to grow strong & leave unripe fruit and vegetables to mature.
Harvest lightly across the garden – don’t take too much from a single plant.
Handle plants gently and use clean tools – to protect their health and growth.
Be tidy - place trimmings on greens pile or onto garden beds as mulch.
