Hot composting for NSVW

This week we welcomed students from UTAS to the garden as part of National Student Volunteer Week.

Cheng, Yuan Li, Hu, Giselle, and Sam learnt about the composting process as we built two hot compost piles together.
Great quality compost is the best way to feed the soil in our raised beds before our spring planting.
If we have done a good job of it and manage them well, we can look forward to reaping the rewards of the student’s efforts in 4 to 6 weeks time. A big thank you to our wonderfully enthusiastic student volunteers and UTAS. We look forward to seeing you again at the garden!

You can read more about the hot composting method we based our build on in this downloadable PDF.
