Warrane Community Garden Working Bee June 12 2022
Join us for a couple of hours at our regular working bee (the second Sunday of each month)!
Come and meet other keen as beans volunteers contributing to the wellbeing of the garden and its visitors.
At our June working bee, there will be a focus on tidying, mulching and progressing the edging on our developing Food Forest!
A food forest mimics the diversity of a natural forest where various plants grow companionably as an ecosystem. By using this concept in the garden, plants are grouped together to complement each other rather than compete. They benefit from the microclimates created by the different plant layers and result is an increased biodiversity, healthy soil and plants. This supports greater productivity for less human input over time.
A couple of things that we always ask you to bring are your own reusable cup (tea/coffee/water are provided on day), your garden gloves & favourite weeding tool -if you have one. Sometimes there is morning tea to share but in these Covid times there is no expectation or obligation that there will be.
